Marie Claire Australia & Tech Ready Women launch a workshop to help women develop their own start-ups
Marie Claire partnered with Tech Ready Women to launch a two-day digital masterclass to help women develop their own business startups. This was Marie Claire’s first foray into the education space. Traditionally Marie Claire has inspired and encouraged women in their careers via content through our @work editorial section – this was our first step into providing women with practical tools to take their startup idea from side hustle to success. A move from empowering to enabling.
During the two-day masterclass, attendees heard from 19 of Australia’s top entrepreneurs and tech experts. There were panels, expert roundtables, collaborative workshops and networking. The event was open to only 40 women to allow the mentors and educators to interact closely to develop and refine ideas. The feedback from guests and speakers alike was outstanding. Guests were engaged and excited to be involved. The atmosphere was friendly and collaborative.
The two-day workshop was held at Dexus Place – a premium high-tech collaborative work and conference space in Sydney’s CBD, specifically designed to foster innovation and drive productivity among entrepreneurs and small businesses. H&R Block were involved in the event to highlight how clever management and understanding of finances is crucial to startup success. Louise Cummins, Marketing & Digital Product Director spoke on this topic, as well as discussing the opportunity on offer at H&R Block at the moment where they are offering 20 grants at $10,000 each for starts and small businesses.
